Halloween Eve

The other night we came home to a courtyard full of glowing pumpkins. This one was my favourite. The only problem (as you can see) was I couldn’t quite figure out the flash on my camera. I think after we get back from Mexico, I will take a photography course. Any suggestions? Until then, I [...]

As Ash packed for his business trip, I used the tooth floss in his bathroom bag to make a leaf mobile for our back door. All in all, I’m fairly pleased with it. Mobiles are whimsical. The leaf selection in our neighbourhood is good. And after tying all those leaves to the floss, my fingers [...]

My mom’s Thanksgiving table, lit by the backyard sun. Flowers from my Grandpa. Brunch at the Irish Heather. My new, old favourite Gastown haunt. Stools leading to the Shebeen Whiskey House. A study of light and absence. Abundance.

Having always wanted to be a gypsy myself, I gave one to my fiance for his 30th birthday. Given that all Greek restaurants have the same exact menu, it’s hard to imagine that one place could be so above the others in terms of food quality. A favourite photo

Oh Paris, how I miss you. It helps to go to places like Jules. It also helps to listen to her. And it helps to linger too long and drink too many samples of Andre Vinet Muscadet (FRA, $23) here. But nothing really helps that much. Except going. Jen

Periphery

This is the building at the end of my block. It makes me think about potential.   This is the view from my patio. I envy my neighbours tall, white planter. This is how much I love my new Canon G9. It lets me get into the details. That’s all. Have a great long weekend. Jen
