Viva la summer! It’s hot out. Two backyard bbq’s on the agenda today and then a trip to the airport to pick up my parents who are returning from 3 weeks in Italy. Also exciting? The start of farmer’s market season in Vancouver. I was so sad when we moved away from the Nelson Street market – my bedroom window was perfectly situated to lift my head and see if the vendors had set up their tables yet. Luckily, we moved just down the street from the even bigger Trout Lake market. Can’t wait to get shopping locally. I may even use my Climate Action Dividend when it comes in June.

Poof! The weekend is gone.

A promise is a promise. So, I woke up promptly at 6:15am and announced, “it’s time!” because today is the day Ash promised he’d finally tell me where we’re going this weekend. Turns out we’re flying to a little southern town called…..

San Francisco!

I am starting to think this whole branding-our-lives-with-champagne-thing was a really good idea. True, I snubbed my Can-lit loving nose at The Secret, but then I made a simple champagne wish and next thing you know, I’m off to the Fairmont San Francisco on Nob Hill.

This means I will happily be out of blog’s reach this weekend. We’ll see how many glasses of champagne we can fit in before Tuesday!

I can’t read a word of this woman’s blog, but it’s a nice way to start a morning. Especially, a morning before the start of a weekend, when you can imagine having the kind of liberties of time that lend to snacks and pots of tea and admiring your collections, like dessert plates.

Or maybe, an impromptu vacation.

In this case, I think she was going to Budapestiä. I’ll assume this was her suitcase on the way back. I love the yellow velvet clutch and I might just look for one like it on ebay today.

Our weekend is set to include: a photography show on East Broadway, some time with family somewhere I LOVE but cannot say right now because it’s a surprise, an Indian potluck at Kari and Rob’s and most likely, an open house or two, because we’re just those kind of people.

A little bit crazy.
